Maternity Sweater
Your plus size maternity wardrobe needs to encompass a variety of weather seasons. After all, it'll be a nine month timeframe, some of it probably hot. A third trimester is no time to be sweltering in clothes that don't breathe or fit properly. Plan accordingly, and try to resist purchasing your entire maternity wardrobe in the first few weeks after you get the news. Give your body time to adjust, and give yourself time to determine what this shape-shifting experience is going to mean to your fashion sense.
Look for tops and bottoms that are designed for the changing shape you're experiencing. Select fabrics that work for the weather, that breathe rather than trap moisture. Design your expectant wardrobe from the inside out, including sleep bras and panties that don't bind. Did You Know This About Plus Size?Asked by one of her pregnant customers to design something "presentable but comfortable" to wear in public, Lena Himmelstein Bryant Malsin created a dress with an elasticized waistband and accordion pleated skirt. This would be the first known commercially made maternity dress. (You know her company as Lane Bryant.) Source: Wikipedia |
