I don't know about you, but I'm not on any diet, wishing I were the picture of Socially Acceptable. I don't want a minimizer bra or trousers with a built-in girdle or a 'trapeze' dress that would make a better car cover. I am on the lookout for clothes that make me feel good right now, at what I weigh now. Comfortable? Yes. Well-made? Yup. Fashionable? That would be nice, thanks.

In a survey conducted by Psychology Today, fifty-six percent of women say they are dissatisfied with their overall appearance. Their self-disparagement is specifically directed toward their abdomens (71 percent), body weight (66 percent), hips (60 percent), and muscle tone (58 percent).
