Lori describes herself as a working mom with not a lot of time to pay attention to the latest fashions. She has only a few minutes in the morning between the rush to get the kids out the door for school to the rush to get to the office and ready for a busy day of meetings and around-town travel. She is often called to meet with clients on the weekends and feels her casual style isn’t quite up to the task yet. It is not unusual for her to go straight from the office to a dinner meeting, so she needs to be able to transition a day outfit to an evening look rapidly and accurately.
“I don’t have a ton of money to spend on my wardrobe, and I really hate to go shopping very often, since I tend to get items that don’t work just right with the rest of my clothes. I like to shop online – it cuts down on my tendency to impulse buy. I have my blueprint in the works, but I need some style guidance!”
Lori is looking for casual pants for her weekend meetings, breaking away from the jeans/t-shirt mode she’s fallen into. We’re recommending a fuller leg pant, falling straight from the thigh, to give the perception of more ‘presence’ to her lower half.
She also needs to fill the day-to-evening gap in her wardrobe in addition to her business attire. We’re recommending some darker neutrals and autumn colors that will work daytime well and go evening with some quick accessories.
She prefers a medium heel. We spotted some comfortable pumps with enough of a lift to elongate and lengthen her profile, and some strand necklaces to complete the look when paired with matching earrings and perhaps a low-key bracelet.
All in all, we’ve found a good combination of styles for her to consider that will fit well with her style blueprint, fill in the gaps in her wardrobe, and get her stepping out in style. Lori, we’re dressing you UP!
