Give a wedding gift nobody else will think of!

All is said and done, you’re back from the honeymoon and getting settled in. Before you get too relaxed, The Wedding Lass would like to remind you that you have THANK YOU NOTES to write.

Under ideal conditions, someone has been manning a gift notebook long before the wedding began, making sure that any gift that is placed there is marked with a discreet little sticker. A corresponding sticker has been going on a notebook page, where the gift giver’s name has been being written down.

Now that you’re settled down a bit, it’s time to go through that notebook page and start writing your thank-you notes. Since those little stickers had numbers on them that correspond to the notebook, it’s a snap to see that Aunt Barbara gave you a blue china tea set and Aunt Edna gave you an authentic vintage 1950s Arvin radio. Thank each of them, naming the gift in your note. Then mark the date next to the name and gift, so you know you’ve sent that thank-you note already.

1 – Resist the urge to email your thank-you notes, no matter how cramped your hand gets!

2 – Resist the urge to post a general broadcast of thanks on your wedding blog in lieu of individual thank-you notes.

3 – Above all, resist the urge to have pre-printed cards that read Thank you for the lovely [fill in the blank] that you sent for our wedding. We really appreciate it. Nothing rings less true and heartfelt than a generic printed fill-in-the-blank with our deepest gratitude cards.

If Twitter Were Sold To (fill in the blanks)

@davewiner thanks for starting this… I’m a Twitter fan, and possibly a Twitterholic. I admit it – I really enjoy connecting with people and sharing ideas, thoughts, humor, concerns, elation over presidential election, and dismay over the progress of Prop 8 in California toward ‘acceptance.’ A few minutes ago, I saw: davewiner Oy. Facebook to [...]

Three Phases to the Foundation of Your Style Blueprint

Three Phases to the Foundation of Your Style Blueprint

House blueprints don’t just spring forth, fully formed. They take time, planning, arranging and rearranging until the design flows properly, rooms connect logically, living areas take on shape. The Winner: America

The Winner: America

On most days, I’m a self-admitted not-necessarily-Republican, not-necessarily-Democrat politically unbiased logical individual.  I always vote, but don’t normally feel obligated to say for whom nor why.  I don’t believe in campaign promises, campaign premises, platforms built just strong enough to withstand casual observation just long enough for their candidate to win (and collapsing directly after [...]

Four First Steps To Begin your Style Blueprint
