Real or Silk?
Silk flowers for my wedding, reception, bouquet – and some people thought I was out of my mind to do so. But I didn’t regret it for one minute, and here’s why:
1 – I wanted something that would last far beyond the one day, celebrating the marriage as well as the wedding. I smile now, seventeen years later, every time I see my bouquet in its clear protective bubble.
2 – My mind was made up – I wanted a particular combination of lilies, trailing ribbons and roses for my bouquet. Every place I went had something close – no place I went offered just the right arrangement.
3 – Our wedding was out of town. I could have called a local florist and arranged for everything to be provided by the time I arrived . As it turned out, I did end up turning to a local florist – for more silk flowers!
4 – Making the arrangements and bouquets was a snap! I’m all thumbs when it comes to arranging flowers, but with the silk flowers my fears flew out the window. No wilting, no dripping water, no fear of breaking fragile stems.
5 – But the biggest payoff was that, even at the height of allergy season, NOBODY SNEEZED.
