The old guidance about being handed lemons and making lemonade pales in comparison to the strength and positive power of Alicia Staley.  Spend a few minutes listening to her on Twitter (@stales), reading her blog (link is above), and you’ll get a sense of just how powerful and positive that lemonade can be.   Where other survivors may sit back and count their blessings, Alicia became determined to turn her energies and indomitable spirit outward, rallying support for cancer patient care through fundraising, public speaking and events.

My name is Alicia. I’m a three-time cancer survivor. I’ve battled Hodgkin’s and Breast Cancer. I’ve been through the ringer over the years, but I’m still living… strong and healthy. I’ve had chemo, radiation, lots of surgeries, but cancer can’t keep me down. Now it’s time to give back… BIG TIME. Help me help others still locked in battle with cancer. Yes, we can make a difference, one patient at a time. Join me on this journey.

About The Staley Foundation:

The Staley Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization based in Boston, MA. TSF raises money for patient programs at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA and United Medical Memorial Hospital in Batavia, NY.

The Staley Foundation was established by Alicia Staley. Alicia is a three-time cancer survivor working to make a difference in other cancer patient’s lives. Alicia is the executive director for the Staley Foundation. Alicia’s responsibilities include fundraising, program development, and management of the Staley Foundation’s mission.
